Many commenters pointed out the obvious: the NFL routinely hands out narcotic pain meds like candy corn. Nothing addictive or unhealthy about that. Mebbe Goodell could consider the relative harmfulness of firing up a joint vs gobbling a handful of oxy just to get out of bed in the morning.

Poor Goodell he just can't understand any of these modern medicine concepts.
From the effects of brain bashing to drug use it is all way to complicated for him. However wife/girlfriend beating or shooting yourself with a gun in your pocket those things seem perfectly normal to him.

There are lots of medical uses of marijuana

I don't use it but many studies point to its beneficial effects and at least 3 prescription drugs contain THC or CBD.
