Prayers to you and your loved ones and surgeons, d.
Medically, you will be fine. They will take care of it and that will be all. It sounds like all the specialists you've seen have had decades of years experience, and that is what really counts when it comes to being a medical professional. You can study all you want about it, but seeing it happen over and over again is where the real knowledge comes from.
Putting myself in the position of the wife- I would have no problem loving my husband, if not more because I find strength in adversity beautiful, if worse case scenario happened. And I know you and your wife have something special that not a lot of people find in their lives. She will continue to love you and cherish you no matter what. Plus, you've still got your mouth, right?* Obligatory PP pervert response.
But not saying it will. Medical advances are bananas nowadays- miraculous the things they can do. Thinking about that worst-case is a good idea, though. That way there are no surprises, and surprises are what makes the quality of life go down. And there are plenty of treatments that enable a man to still have that verocity, so there are options and not just a dead end. I believe insurance even covers it.
Good luck and take comfort in the fact that your medical staff is dedicated enough to forsake their Christmas to do this for you. We'll be thinking of you! :kisss:
