OT: My Upcoming Surgery

My prayers go out to you, your family, and your loved ones, dchester. May you have the strength and support to get through this ordeal.

dchester,

You've always come across as a real class act on this message board, so I imagine that you are a really good guy in real life.

I will say a prayer for you and hope that everything turns out for the best. Cancer has been rampant in my family (Mom, Dad, Sis, Aunt's, Uncle's, Grandparent's), it's an awful disease, but luckily advancements in medical science give you a good chance at recovery.

I hope your family and friends provide you with a good support system. Try your best to stay positive through this scary time!

D-Man, I am so sorry to hear you have to go through this. Please know you're in my thoughts and prayers. You better be alive and kicking the next time I make it up for a game or a Planet Draft party, ya hear??? Your harem needs you

Get better, friend (((HUGS)))

Best wishes, prayers, and luck for a full and complete recovery.

DC - Best of luck tomorrow! I'll be pulling for ya. I'll also be seeing the doctor that performed my colonoscopy for the test result even though they found some polyps and removed them. Asshole has had the results since 12/4 and waited two weeks to schedule this appointment. So although this does not compare to your situation, the angst sucks.

DC, please go on ahead of us and beat the shit of out prostate cancer so that when it's down on the ground flailing all embarrassed, we can point at it and mock it and laugh at it...

Like when Ralphie beats up Scott Farkus in A Christmas Story. Do that to prostate cancer, bro.

D'chester...I can understand. I had a cancer scare myself in 2005 but luckily it was a false alarm. I know what it's like just to think you have cancer. I've had too many family die from it. I hope you lick it. Good luck and positive thoughts are going your way.

Prayers to you and your loved ones and surgeons, d.

Medically, you will be fine. They will take care of it and that will be all. It sounds like all the specialists you've seen have had decades of years experience, and that is what really counts when it comes to being a medical professional. You can study all you want about it, but seeing it happen over and over again is where the real knowledge comes from.

Putting myself in the position of the wife- I would have no problem loving my husband, if not more because I find strength in adversity beautiful, if worse case scenario happened. And I know you and your wife have something special that not a lot of people find in their lives. She will continue to love you and cherish you no matter what. Plus, you've still got your mouth, right?* Obligatory PP pervert response.

But not saying it will. Medical advances are bananas nowadays- miraculous the things they can do. Thinking about that worst-case is a good idea, though. That way there are no surprises, and surprises are what makes the quality of life go down. And there are plenty of treatments that enable a man to still have that verocity, so there are options and not just a dead end. I believe insurance even covers it.

Good luck and take comfort in the fact that your medical staff is dedicated enough to forsake their Christmas to do this for you. We'll be thinking of you! :kisss:

Best of luck to you D, thanks for letting us know. Guess this might give some of us slackers the impetus to go in for a check up some day :p

Keep us updated, we'll all be thinking about you.

Dchester, I wanted to add my love and positive thoughts and wishes to you and yours. You have definitely covered all the bases as far as treatment goes, and to echo the thoughts of everyone else, what can be done medically these days is amazing.

Your friends and admirers on the Planet will be sending good thoughts and karma your way.

DC thanks for confiding in us and you know this whole community is behind you and there for you. *huggles*

Lot's of good vibes and well wishes in here. Please add me to the group as my thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family as you prepare to go forward from here.

You are in very good hands with technology and doctors today so don't sweat that stuff. While they do their things for you make sure that you drink plenty of Aloe Vera juice, eat garlic (this will keep people away from you when you don't want to be bothered) and ingest vitamin D in order to heal yourself from the inside.

See, told ya.... A little scary putting it out there, but now you've got an entire planet of prayers and positive energy with you through this.

You already know that you are in my prayers, and will continue to be until you are through this. C and little D, as well. I'll be praying for all of you.

God bless and lots of love
