Data-driven decision-making is science and art.
Why does Adam Gase still have a job?
Why does Adam Gase still have a job?
If your goal is to lose a lot, Gase is your guy.
Ding, ding, ding.
Johnson knows that shit can't really get much better if he fires Gase and if the death spiral continues, as it must, he'll be sitting on the most valuable draft pick in NFL history. And, therefore, all the rubes that have been trying to root for that team will, once again, see a light at the end of that very dark tunnel they all exist in. And all will be forgotten. Again.
I assume they will draft Trevor Lawrence and deal Darnold, but if they didn't (these are the Jets) and Lawrence continues to destroy College football, then the picks they could generate with a trade would be flipping amazing.

Yeah its tough when your people at the top are not all on the same page. Every team in the NFL has been a mess at some point or another in their franchise lives. Things seem to shift quickly though. It has to start at the top though, because without the right management for what is best for the team, it does not matter. They are without a doubt, the worst team in the NFL and it’s not even close. This all starts with ownership. What other team hires their HC with zero input from the GM, let that GM run the draft and then let the HC talk the owners into firing the GM? You just can’t make this shit up. The only hope for this team, short of the the idiot twins selling the team, is to tell Joe Douglas to hire the next HC and then leave the team alone and let the football guy you hired to run the team do his job.
Jets have went full number 1 pick mode. They are that scheduled game where you think, yeah no pressure weekend. I would almost use it as a rest game for players that might be nicked up.
I could see this happening. He isn't a terrible coach, but, he will never win a ring though.Jets Meet With Marvin Lewis
January 7th, 2021 at 1:27pm CST by Zach Links
The Jets interviewed Marvin Lewis for their head coaching vacancy on Thursday, per a club announcement. This marks’ Lewis third interview, following chats with the Texans and Lions.
Lewis is best known for his time as the Bengals’ head coach and the Ravens’ defensive coordinator before that. His most recent stop was in Arizona State, where he served as the co-DC under one-time Jets HC Herman Edwards.
Lewis’ career 131-122-3 regular season record doesn’t get fans too excited, nor does 0-7 playoff record. Still, his Bengals teams won the AFC North four times, and he remains a well-respected defensive mind. The Jets are at least interested in the experienced head coach, though they’re also willing to consider an up-and-comer like Aaron Glenn. In addition to Lewis and their longtime cornerback, 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, and Titans offensive coordinator Arthur Smith are also among those on the radar.
None of the candidates will be directly interviewed by owner Woody Johnson, though he will reportedly be kept in the loop.
