Folks, thanks very much for staying on top of the Babalu situation for those of us whose followings of l'affair de babalu but had life interfere in both of ur lives. jeff. It seems for the last 3.5 weeks and for the next 2 week I, I will be chasing Jeff from the second floor of his rehab center. Took a whole bunch of circulatory blockage to put me down but after a couple of coronary incidents, three strokes and some bypass work I am now taking it easy on my comfortable bed. Jeff, I will try to get up to see you and BOR. if you are so inclined, an earful of mojojuice from your mouth to God's ears would be appreciated. Will write again soon when get some more energy. Regards to all! Paul:toast:

I'm sorry to hear this Taltos. I hope everything works out OK. I'm sending my thoughts and prayers your way too.

God, I hope that's not some newfangled euphemism.

Seriously, though, what RG did is  because too many people in this world talk the talk but don't walk the walk, if you know what I mean.

Very true, I live 9 miles south of Shaughnessy and never drove up here until placed here because I had never met Jeff. Now I am making the effort to meet him. Paul

Hey, what else did you expect me to do with all that free time? Some of those nurses were total babes! It was like torture! Getting sponge baths from a cute student nurses and having to keep my hands to myself and try to keep my...ah, reflexes...um, down. A spongebath may sound nice but when you have to behave it's torture I tell ya, pure torture! And being in the hospital is like the mother of all dry spells. I remember when I misunderstood what a "head nurse" was and made a lewd request when she asked if there was anything I wanted! Wow, I'll never make that mistake again! I'm still having nightmares about that colonosc..wait, we're not talking about me are we? Nevermind.
I have to admit that it is easier when one is aged close to 60 and needs a chain hoist and a truck load of Viagra to lift the old Irish Wolf Hound but the dirty thoughts are still fun.:toast::insane:

Proper puctuation changes everything.

This "Jeff, I will try to get up to see you and BOR." sounds like you are going to visit Jeff AND BOR.

Whereas this "Jeff, I will try to get up to see you" then place the period (.) Then "and BOR. if you are so inclined, an earful of mojojuice from your mouth to God's ears would be appreciated." so take out the period after BOR.

Changes everything.

Not being a grammer cop Taltos as you have immensely more important things to worry about.

Just showing BOR why I thought he was in the hospital with you guys.

Update: 11/4/2010

Jeff continues his slow but steady progress. He's gained movement in his other foot now. So that gives him movement in both hands and feet and movement in his left arm, wrist and elbow. He's been mouthing words a lot lately and to get him one step closer to talking, they replaced his tracheotomy tube with a smaller one. This one will allow him to at least partially breathe through his mouth and nose. Once he get's used to it, they will be able to cap it and it will allow him to at least whisper.

They continue to slowly increase his central nervous system stimulant and slowly reduce his phenobarbital. As a result of that, he seems to be even more alert. They had him sitting on the side of his bed doing therapy for 45 minutes today. His caregivers are very happy with his progress lately.

He's still got a long road to recovery, but he's moving in the right direction and that's something we can all be thankful for.

Keep up your prayers and positive thoughts. They seem to be working!

 So, I can take my hand off my wallet?

Heavenly Father, thank You for the positive news from Babalu and taltos, thank You for Your love seen in the healing gifts of their caregivers and the support of friends and family, but most importantly thank You for the love which You demonstrate in the gift of forgiveness given to all who believe on Christ Jesus. I ask Your mercy continue to bless and heal these two men, to strengthen their families, to strengthen their caregivers, to guide them to Your Word and the story of Jesus Christ and Your promise of salvation through Your Son, in whose Name I pray. Amen.
