He is reportedly down 17 pounds and motivated. Jets are on the hook for his salary. Would he be worth bringing in on a cheap contract (which appears all he'll get from anyone anyway)?

He is probably a hall of fame candidate when he retires.

So the question then becomes, if we do bring him in, and he/we win another Superbowl, giving him 2 rings with the Pats, does he enter the HoF as a Jet or Pat?

I say no because the above question makes my head explode.

Another 'prove it' cycle-

  1. Come to NE
  2. Win SB
  3. Gouge the **** out of the Jets..
.

Intriguing

:coffee:

He still needs to lose about another 25lbs then we can see ...

Could you just imagine if he came back absolutely ripped, quick like the Revis of old, and won another Lombardi.

The JEST blowback would be hysterical.

I wouldn't bring him back unless he agreed to a workout looksee. Last year he was slow with lousy reactions.

I don't think he'd be a good fit here but if he was willing to play safety I think he'd be worth something.

I think now that Harmon's back, we have 3 better safeties on the roster than Revis would be.

I'm not against bringing Revis back at corner, however, in theory. I just don't know how that would work out positionally and rotationally. Assuming Butler's here next year (and I do), he'd be the third-best corner on the team, and I'm not sure I want him defending the slot.

You don't enter as a member of a particular team. Teams you are associated with are listed on the base of your bust.

As your #2 or #3 CB for the veteran minimum? Why not? In BB we trust.

It would help if someone actually asked a Pats source if they want the guy in the first place, instead of manufactured stories where you only talk to Revis' people and other teams who volunteer opinions but don't actually know anything.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if they sign him. No guarantees to make the team. They might bring him in and once camp starts see that he has absolutely nothing to offer and release him. I could see him contributing not as a starter but in certain defensive packages.

I'm over his drama but IBIT.

He's not physical enough to play safety and he's not fast enough to play corner any more. Personally, at his age and wealth it's difficult for me to believe that he can once again be motivated to be 75% of the talent he once was.

No guarantees with an incentive-laden contract is all I'd offer but I'd stay awake nights wondering if he pulled one over on me just as he did the Jets 2 years ago.
